Silver sensation!

The storm clouds cleared overnight revealing the distant mountain ranges and bathing the Shunyi venue in glorious sunshine.

On a sensational final day at the Olympic slalom course yesterday Jacqui Lawrence stunned the field winning a silver medal to add to Robin Bell's bronze, completing an overall success for our small team of slalom athletes.

Only Slovakia has won more medals - all three gold! Elena Kaliska and the Hochshorner brothers defended their Athens titles adding to Michal Martikan's triumph on Wednesday to complete a hatrick for the Slovaks.

A cool clear head and a bombproof race plan saw Jacqui move into the lead in the final run with only Kaliska holding her form to take the title.

A fantastic end to the slalom for our team and supporters and one which we were able to enjoy fully into the night with Jacqui's smile and the Australian flag never wavering.

Dreams come true...
